I promised I would tell how much fun this session was. Bloopers will be included! Keep reading and see the magic of this session unravel.

The little beauty in the image is my baby girl. She is my model for most ideas I have or tester of any new equipment. Sometimes she loves doing it; other times she acts like it is torment and abuse hahha. She can be a fantastic model or stoned faced and uncooperative. Knowing this, I knew I needed to do something special for her. After all, without her I would not be the person or photographer I am today. And that is where the unicorn idea came to life. Every little girl loves unicorns right?

I managed to keep my intentions for the session a secret. I asked her to come to the park for some photos, because I needed to test my camera equipment. Thankfully, she was happy to help mamma out that day. We had to bring Barbie of course and she had to have her picture taken too!

Like most sessions, I just let her loose to explore and play while I captured her curiosity and fun spirit. Below you can see her having to touch the water, walking the trails and playing on the little bridge. Yes , I did bribe her with a slushy lol.

Then we found the best spot for the unicorn image. This was by far the best part of the session. She had me tearing up from laughter. FYI telling a 5 year old to look surprised can create a multitude of hilarious faces. They are adorable and goofier that ever at the same time. Below you can see some of the blooper shots.

You can see the many faces: the I am sooo surprised but I don't know where to look, the okay I'm bored I am going to lift my foot up, and the laugh because I know I am a silly butt. Then to end with, I am a super model and I have to have a photo with my Barbie.

It was the funniest as well as the longest part of the session. Getting the perfect photo for my vision took some time. After laughing my butt of we finally got this perfect shot...

Now I could go home and create the image my daughter would love.
This is the hard  and long part of creating a magical image like this. Making everything blend well and look like it belongs is a long process. It is no easy task but I love to make it happen! It is well worth it too.

When I showed my daughter what I created for her she was uncontrollably excited. You know the kind where they can't stop moving. My heart melted.

Children are fun, creative and have great imaginations. They play and create their own fantasies and sometimes their own worlds. Being able to bring the things they dream up to life in print is the nothing short of magical for me.

What does your child dream about? Comment below and tell me what your child would love to see in their image.

If you are curious about how you can get something like this for your child please contact me, Hillary. I would love to discuss your child's dream.
